GERMANY'S WORLD CUP GLORY Live

Germany has claimed the 2014 FIFA World Cup after defeating Argentina one-nil in Rio De Janeiro.

It took 113 minutes before the Germans found the back of the net and scored in the second half of extra time, with their rivals unable to get a goal in the remaining time.
As a small consolation prize, Argentina's Lionel Messi was awarded the Golden Ball for being the World Cup's best player before the German team was awarded the Cup trophy, lifting it high to celebrate with fans.
Meanwhile, some Argentinians obviously disappointed with the result reportedly became involved in scuffles with riot police on Rio's famous Copacabana Beach.
