Seven bushwalkers have spent the night in a cave in the Blue Mountains, sheltering from cold and wet conditions.

The group set off yesterday morning but failed to make it to a meeting point in Katoomba at 5pm last night.

Pol-Air and the Air Ambulance Rescue helicopter were scouring the area until the early hours of this morning.

Thankfully, one of the members of the group managed to get phone reception and texted a relative to say the were safe, police were then notified.


Young Australians are being told to smarten up their attitude and appearance to get a job.

A Department of Employment study surveyed 1000 businesses, with nearly half (39%) believing improving their atitude towards work is the most important requirement.  

Also considered important requirements reliability (14%) and physical appearance (11%).


Justin Bieber has apologised for a racist remark which was caught on tape.

The pop star says he was 15 when he made the joke during filming of his 2011 documentary Never Say Never.  

Bieber has told TMZ.com, "as a kid I didn't understand the power of certain words and how they can hurt. I thought it was okay to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn't realise at the time that it wasn't funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance."


State Of Origin is headed to Melbourne.

The Rugby League series will be played at the MCG, home of the AFL, next year for the first time since 1997.

It's understood Game 2 will be played in Melbourne, which is no stranger to Origin football, a game was played at Etihad Stadium in 2012.

Confirmation is expected this afternoon.
