SPOTIFY LATEST HACK ATTACK

Music lovers using Spotify may be asked to re-enter passwords and upgrade software in coming days, after the streaming service was the latest to succumb to hackers.

While bosses admitted only one user’s data was compromised, Chief technology officer Oskar Stal said they are investigating as “information security and data protection are of great importance”.

It’s the latest in a string of security scares to hit major tech company’s in recent times. Earlier this week Apple devices were being held at ransom, by hackers who infiltrated the “Find My Phone” Application.

While cyber attackers have also infiltrated databases and systems at eBay and Adobe.

As an extra precaution to keep Spotify’s some 40 million users safe, account holders using Androids will also be asked to upgrade their apps in coming days. At this stage iOS or Windows Phone users are only recommended to change their passwords.
